Medical Director

Pegasus Risk Management was founded in 1995 in Modesto, CA to meet the unique needs of self-insured government entities and companies in administering their Worker’s Compensation programs and controlling costs. Pegasus Risk Management solves problems and provides solutions through:Status Medical Management Utilization Review Program is under the oversight of board certified Family Practice physician, David Rollins, MD. Dr. Rollins graduated in 1980 from Loyola University of Chicago/ Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Tucson’s Arizona Health Science Center and holds an unrestricted California medical license.

Dr. Rollins’ responsibilities include:

• Oversight of decisions made in the utilization
   review process (8 CCR 9792.6(l)
• Oversees the process by which request for
   authorization (RFA) are reviewed for approval,
   modification, delay, or denial prior to,
   retrospectively, or    concurrently in
   compliance with Labor Code 4610 and
   implementing regulations
• Contributes to the development and  
   implementation of Best Practices
• Attends quarterly meetings to review and
  delineate program updates
• Reviews all RFA made at the occupational level
• Participates in weekly QA discussions of complex
  cases
